Auditions for the 2015 Magic City Nutcracker will be held Aug. 29 at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. Auditions are open to dancers ages 5-18 and adults who are not required to have previous performance experience.

"The purpose of this performance is to cultivate a love of the arts and to inspire young artists to pursue dance with passion and joy," said Rangel. "These missions are a cornerstone of the Vestavia Dance program. It may be the students and their parents who can best describe what makes Vestavia Dance and the Magic City Nutcracker unique."

Vestavia Dance members Kelly Avery, Angel White and Stephanie Rangel created the Magic City Nutcracker  three years ago with the idea to create a sophisticated performance that showcases local talent.

"Vestavia Dance is my family," said VHHS senior Katie Corona. "At this studio, our dancers learn to praise God through movement and music while creating lasting relationships between teacher and student. I wouldn’t be who I am without the love of my Vestavia Dance family for the past 12 years."

The cost of auditions is $10. For more, visit magiccitynutcracker.org.
