July 4 to affect city hours, services

As Vestavia Hills residents are enjoying barbecues and fireworks, city employees will also be taking the day off to recognize Independence Day.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, July 4 and reopen on Tuesday, July 5. Garbage and recycling pick-up will operate on a holiday schedule for the week, with all pick-ups being pushed back a day. The garbage and recycling schedule will return to normal on Monday, July 11. Call 978-0100 or visit vhal.org for more information on city services.

Wald Park Pool will only be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4, instead of its normal hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call 978-0172 for more information about the pool.

The Library in the Forest will recognize Independence Day by closing July 3-4. On July 5, the library will resume normal hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Call 978-0155 or visit vestavialibrary.org for more information about the Library in the Forest's hours.
