The Vestavia Hills City Council will meet Monday to discuss and vote on an action to sell 2.34 acres of land to Bama Custard, LLC, the purveyor of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

The purchase price indicated in the ordinance would be $1.2 million.

The property, located at 1280 Montgomery Highway, is the current location of the City’s Public Works facility and shop. Should the Council vote to sell the property, Public Works would be moved to a location in Liberty Park within 90 days.

The Council will consider a resolution declaring 1600 Gentilly Drive a weed or other vegetation nuisance. If the property is declared a nuisance, the resolution would allow City Manager Jeff Downes to take action to abate the problem.

The Council will also vote on whether to accept a bid for maintenance of the HVAC units in city-owned facilities, as well as on a measure to appropriate an additional $24,000 to the turf management agreement for the mowing of parks.

Finally, the Council will hear but not act on an ordinance for a new feral cat policy.
