The Vestavia Hills City Council will vote on a resolution to fund the second phase of Sicard Hollow Park at their meeting Monday, Jan. 11.

The resolution would authorize City Manager Jeff Downes to fund the City’s $599,000 portion of the $1.7 million project. $100,000 would come from the current fiscal year budget, and the remaining amount would come from the City’s Capital Reserve Fund.

Phase two of the park’s plan includes trails, exercise equipment, pavilions and a splash pad, as well as other amenities.

There will be a public hearing on the resolution during the meeting.

There will be no other action taken during Monday’s meeting, but the Council will hear the first reads of an ordinance to sell the Public Works facility, as well as a resolution authorizing an application for a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant from ADECA to fund a park at Patchwork Farms.

The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. in the City Council chambers, and there will not be a work session prior.
