Council to discuss Jefferson County hazard plan, personnel board

The Vestavia Hills City Council will meet Monday, Feb. 8 to discuss two items of old business and five items of new business, with one requiring unanimous consent.

The Council will vote on a resolution to adopt the 2014 Jefferson County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, as well as a resolution to adopt and implement the 2014-15 classification survey of the Jefferson County personnel board.

There will also be a vote on the approval of the city’s disclosure controls and procedures, as well as a resolution to declare Parks and Recreation Department equipment as surplus property.

Additionally, the Council will consider an ordinance allowing the sublease of a single family residents to three, non-related individuals and consideration of an alcohol license for Vestavia Mart on Rocky Ridge Road.

Applications for the vacancy on the Vestavia Hills Board of Education are due by the start of the 5 p.m. meeting.

The council will also hear the first-reads of 22 other resolutions and ordinances, but will take no action.
