The Vestavia Hills City Council will meet at its regular meeting Monday and discuss a possible solution to the feral cat problem in Cahaba Heights.

The resolution, which will require unanimous consent to consider without a first reading, would allow for a $10,000 partnership with the Greater Birmingham Human Society for a "limited" trap-neuter-release program throughout the city.

The vote would deem the feral cat colonies to be a public nuisance and health risk, allowing the council to take immediate action in partnering with GBHS.

The council will also consider two items of business related to the upcoming municipal elections, including an agreement with Jefferson County for elections services, as well as a resolution appointing an Election Manager for 2016.

There will also be consideration of a resolution accepting a bid for construction of a trail as part of Phase II of the SHAC updates.
