The Vestavia Hills City Council will consider five items of business at its regular meeting Monday night.

The first order of business concerns the new western entrance at the former Altadena Valley Country Club for access to the proposed recreational fields. The council will consider a resolution that would allow City Manager Jeff Downes to enter into agreements with various parties for the design and construction specifications of the new entrance project.

Engineering Design Group submitted a bid for design and construction services with a maximum cost of $50,000, and Caprine Engineering submitted a bit for construction management services for $15,000. The resolution states Downes has also identified other third-party services, for things such as geotechnical reports, that will cost up to $25,000.

The council will also consider an alcohol license Ironston Pizzaworks, located at 632 Montgomery Highway, for the sale of wine and beer.

The council will consider a remediation agreement for 2216 Brookdale Lane, which the city declared a public nuisance in January. The agreement would require that the property owners bring the structure up to code by Oct. 15, or the city will proceed toward demolition.

A resolution appointing a member to the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority, as well as a resolution adopting various 2014 and 2015 amended national and international building codes, will also be considered.
