City employees are moving down the road in a few days. The official move from the Vestavia Hills Municipal Center to Vestavia Hills City Hall is set for Oct. 15-16.

The grand opening for Vestavia Hills’ new city hall, located at 1032 Montgomery Highway, is Tuesday, Oct. 13, and the city has made plans to make the transition smooth for employees and citizens.

The availability of staff from Oct. 12-14 might be limited, and anyone who has a deadline or court date from Oct. 12-23 is encouraged to contact the city by Friday, Oct. 9.

The regular council session on Oct. 12 will be held at the Municipal Center at 513 Montgomery Highway.

Municipal offices, including police administration, will be closed on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 for the move. Anyone who needs to visit the police department for emergency purposes or to file a report can go to the old Municipal Center on those days.

After the move, anyone visiting the police department should call ahead because some operations may still be in transition.

The new city hall will open on Oct. 19. Phone numbers for most staff will not change, and hours of operation will remain the same. The police department will be open 24/7.
