The Cahaba Heights Community Foundation is hoping to keep voters informed through a community candidate forum just days before the Aug. 23 election.

The Foundation, a non-profit formed by residents of the Cahaba Heights area of Vestavia Hills, has invited all 11 candidates to the forum, and invites all residents to attend.

"We know this is an important election year for Vestavia Hills and we are excited to provide an opportunity for constituents to engage with their candidates," organizer Lane Brown said.

The candidates will be given the questions a few days ahead of time, and because of the number of candidates there will not be any debate.

Brown said the group is aware some candidates will be unable to attend the event, but that they have invited campaign managers to attend and speak in the candidate's place.

The group also hopes to live-stream the event on Facebook Live for any residents that won't be able to make it in person.

The forum will take place from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Sunday, Aug. 21. The church is located at 3775 Crosshaven Drive.

The community can submit questions to CHCommunityFoundation@gmail.com.
