VHFD declares Massey Road fire deliberate
The Vestavia Hills Fire Marshal’s office has determined the fire that occurred at 3038 Massey Road on July 30 was incendiary in origin.
Several units of the Vestavia Terrace Condominiums were destroyed in the fire, which caused Massey Road to temporarily close Thursday morning. The building, which was under construction, was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Multiple agencies are assisting with this investigation including the Vestavia Hills Fire Department, Vestavia Hills Police Department, Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The investigation includes evidence processing as well as neighborhood interviews.
