The Heights Village in Cahaba Heights to host 'Back to School Tailgate Bash'

The Heights Village in Cahaba Heights will host a family-friendly Back to School Tailgate Bash Saturday, Aug. 20. From 2-7 p.m., there will be an assortment of entertainment and activities. Participating merchants and restaurants will also offer giveaways.

The Heights Village shops include:

• The Lili Pad and Gigi’s Tween
• Little Soles
• Birmingham Bake and Cook Co.
• Cummings Jewelry

Kate and the Howlers, an up-and-coming band of local junior high students, will take the stage at 2:30 p.m. The rock-and-roll group has performed at shows across Alabama and the Southeast, according to a news release about the event. Kate and the Howlers will perform at the stage located in the center of The Heights Village, allowing all to enjoy the all-ages music while visiting shops and activities.

Face painting, princess sightings from 2-4 p.m., activities and games will be spread throughout the center.

Attendees can dine at one of the area’s restaurants, including BAM Sports Grill and FoodBar, Sexton’s Seafood market, New York Butcher Shoppe and a recently remodeled Starbucks.
