Publix to open at Patchwork Farms

A sign has appeared at Patchwork Farms indicating that Publix will be the major grocery store at the new development.

A representative from Blackwater Resources, which installed the sign, said its tenant negotiations are not complete and details of future retailers could not be discussed. The representative said more information could be provided in the coming weeks.

City Manager Jeff Downes said he was also unable to comment on the potential addition of Publix or any other tenant at Patchwork Farms, which will have over 100,000 square feet of retail space. However, he said that discussions of the development have long included a large grocery store as the anchor of the development.
