Patchwork Farms Shopping Center groundbreaking set for Monday

Blackwater Resources is set to break ground on the Patchwork Farms Shopping Center.

The official groundbreaking will be Monday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. The shopping center will be anchored by a 45,600-square-foot Publix grocery store. Publix is scheduled to open in December, and there will be more than 36,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space in the shop buildings around the grocery store. There will also be four freestanding sites available for sale or lease.

Negotiations are ongoing for around 11,000 square feet of retail leases, according to a press release from Blackwater Resources.

Mayor Butch Zaragoza and other city representatives will be at the groundbreaking at the corner of Cahaba River Road and Healthy Way. Parking will be available at Lifetime Fitness.
