Cahaba Heights Zaxby’s to celebrate grand opening

Zaxby’s is coming to Cahaba Heights.

In celebration of its grand opening on Aug. 31, the new Zaxby’s location is giving away a Fanatic Pack to the first 100 guests. These Fanatic Packs including 52 “Free Dealz,” or a free item at Zaxby’s each week for a year.

To be eligible for the Fanatic Pack, guests must be in in line on Monday by 10 a.m. The grand opening will kick off at 10:30 a.m.

Russell Pate, owner of the new store, is a Mountain Brook resident and lives a few miles from the Cahaba Heights location. While there are many options for fine dining in Cahaba Heights, Pate said there were not many drive-thru options.

“This will be the closest store to us, so we’re excited that we have another option as well,” Pate said. “We think Cahaba Heights really needed another quick serve restaurant.”

The store has hired around 40 team members, who will have the opportunity to move up in the company.

“I look forward to providing them an opportunity to grow within our company,” Pate said. “Most of our general managers started as cooks and cashiers years ago.”

Pate is also the vice president of Chicken Scratch Holdings Inc., a Birmingham-based franchisee company. Chicken Scratch opened its first Zaxby’s in the metro-Birmingham area in 2004. This will be the company’s eighth location in Birmingham.

“When I was in college at Auburn, I fell in love with the Zaxby’s atmosphere and menu,” Pate said. “My business partner, Courtney Mason, and I love the Zaxby’s brand. We know a quality product when we see it and we are thrilled to share that with this community.”

The Zaxby’s is located at 3201 Bearden Court. It will be open from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. from Sunday-Thursday, and from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
