The final Vestavia Hills City Council meeting of 2015 will be a busy one, as the council is scheduled to vote on 21 ordinances and resolutions.
The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the City Council chambers of City Hall on Dec. 28.
Among the items on the agenda is the ordinance to allow transportation network companies such as Uber to operate in the city. The ordinance is the final item on the agenda, and there will be a public hearing before the council votes.
The council will also consider a set of resolutions putting in motion a multi-jurisdictional project for road improvements on Cahaba River Road. Project agreements would be with Jefferson County, the city of Mountain Brook and the city of Birmingham, and would an agreement to pursue the project over the next few years.
Also on the agenda are ordinances to allow for the purchase of land to create an alternate access to the recreational fields planned for the former Altadena Country Club property, as well as a resolution to repair the Wald Park swimming pool.
The council has postponed consideration and the public hearing for an ordinance declaring the Public Works facility at 1280 Montgomery Highway as surplus property and allowing it to be sold. The sale, which would make way for Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, will be discussed on Jan. 11.
